BADAUN- The preparations for the Mela Kakoda, known as Rohilkhand’s Mini Kumbh, started on a war footing. On November 5, a fair will be flagged off from the Kakoda Devi temple on the banks of the Ganga. The fair will start at the venue of the fair itself with the worship of Havan. The fair will be inaugurated on November 11. The main bath of the fair will take place on 12 November. The fair will run from 5 to 19 November. Millions of remote people will come to the fair and take a bath in the Ganga. Special cultural programs will be organized at the fair from 11 to 13 November.
On Thursday, DM Kumar Prashant and Senior Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Tripathi inspected the preparations of Mela Kakoda on the banks of the Ganga. The DM directed the Additional Chief Officer, Zila Panchayat CP Singh Raghav to complete the preparations for the fair by working on a war level. He said that the roads should be constructed in such a way that the devotees visiting the fair should not have any problem. Keeping in view the strict security arrangements at the fair, he has given instructions to install and run CCTV and drone cameras. Special attention should be given to cleanliness and hygiene in the fair.
For cleaning, the DM directed the Panchayati Raj officer that the duty of adequate cleaning personnel should be imposed. There should not be any mess in the fair and surroundings. The cleaning workers are constantly active and keep doing their work. He said that polythene, plastic and thermocol will be completely banned in the fair.
The DM has instructed the members of the Tiranga Committee to conduct regular Ganga Aarti till the fair runs in Mela Kakodalike Kachla . After observing the map of the fair, he gave necessary guidelines to the concerned fair officials. Chief Development Officer Nisha Anant, SP City Jitendra Kumar Srivastava, ADM Administration Ramnivas Sharma, SDM Sadar Parasnath and other officers were present on the occasion.
